Facebook Star Party

West Paris Public Library will host "STAR PARTY!" a free astronomy evening for all ages on Saturday, November 4, 2023.
We are thrilled to welcome Rick Chase of Waterford and Terry Robinson of South Paris as our facilitators. Terry and Rick have observed and offered programs at the Twitchell Observatory, now located at Robert's Farm Preserve in Norway, and Rick is a lifelong astronomy enthusiast.

STAR PARTY!
Saturday, November 4, 2023, 7 - 8:30 p.m.
West Paris Library, 226 Main St., West Paris. Maine.
*If skies are too cloudy, an indoor program will be presented.

HAVE YOU EVER...
- Wanted to learn how to identify constellations?
- Wondered what that bright star was?
- Observed a planet in our solar system?

WELL, HERE'S YOUR CHANCE!
From the library's parking lot, we may be able to see Saturn, and later on, Jupiter, and possibly some deep sky objects, depending upon obstructions and how much light is around the parking lot.
TWO EXPERIENCED, AMATEUR ASTRONOMERS will be on hand, along with their telescopes, binoculars, and planispheres. (Feel free to bring any binoculars or scopes you have.)
Hey, did you know that the library has a small tabletop telescope available for checking out?
One will be in use that night as well.

SO, MARK YOUR CALENDARS...
Show up anytime during the event.
Dress WARMLY for the cooler evening temperatures.
Bring your friends - it's a party...

A STAR PARTY, that is!
HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!
There is no charge to participate.
