Glines Art Photo Only
West Paris Library Art Display Opening

The Friends of the West Paris Library will be hosting “A Brush of Serenity”, a display of the art of West Paris native, Beverly Smith Glines. The opening celebration of this beautiful collection of oil paintings will be held on Sunday, June 10th from 2- 4PM at the library, 226 Main St.

Mrs. Glines graduated from West Paris High School in 1949. She and her husband, Bob, were married for 54 years, and together, brought up two daughters, now, Jaci Presby and Lori McDaniels.

Mrs. Glines started to paint in the 1970’s, taking adult-ed art lessons at the high school and, for a time studied with Duncan Slade and other artists. Although she has always enjoyed and spent time with her family, and church family as well, she has continued to paint until recently. In later years, she had many of her scenes made into Christmas and note cards as a way to stay in touch with family and friends. She also had calendars made with her art, as gifts.

The beauty of Maine seasons has been captured in these lovely, serene paintings by this very talented and humble woman. Please join the Friends of The West Paris Library on Sunday, June 10th at 2PM to enjoy a time of gathering with Mrs. Glines and her family. Refreshments will be served. The exhibit will remain in the library until September 1st.

Update: We are delighted to note that this popular show has been extended through December 2018.
