Melt Defenses, Make Connections, Heal Divides
HOW TO TALK WITH SOMEBODY
WHO SEES IT DIFFERENTLY
* Do you feel uneasy about approaching a spouse, friend, workmate,
or neighbor about a conflict or misunderstanding?
* Are you stuck in communication ruts or hurtful patterns and looking
for a way of communicating that can bring healing and better
relations?
* Do you wonder how to open the door for a real conversation with
someone with an opposing viewpoint, one that will foster respect and
trust?
What you’ll learn:
• the 3 things to listen for in any conversation
• the key element missing in most “paraphrasing”
• what to say when you don’t know what to say
• how to create trust with one sentence
Facilitated by: educator Robin Dunn and life coach Stephanie Frykholm.
“This really works! I had my first real conversation
with my brother in law after all these years!”
~ Sue Griener, Buena Vista, Colorado
“I’m so glad to have a method to work with in
political conversations. I now have someplace to
start without giving up right away.“ ~ Judy T., Seattle
How you choose to show up in the world matters.
Would you like to feel better prepared for scary, uncomfortable
conversations? Are you ready to explore the dynamics of “conflict”
with curiosity and openness?
This skill-building workshop will equip you with a 3-step formula that
melts defensiveness, builds trust, and creates connection. Through
partner practice, you will develop a specific set of listening and
speaking tools that you can use in your everyday life to diffuse tension
and open channels for constructive communication.
Through exercises that engage the body, mind, and heart, you will
practice core skills in the art of presence, such as holding space,
grounding and centering, observing with non-judgment, setting
energetic boundaries, and detaching from reactivity. You will explore a
way of being that invites shifts to occur within both yourself and others,
creating new possibilities for your relationships
